Trauma

I have a heartfelt interest in working with people who have experienced trauma and have dedicated my career to supporting those in their journey toward peace. I’m a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with a focus on complex trauma.

Trauma can:

  • Show up in many different forms

  • Affect each person differently

  • Be visible or invisible

  • Be shaped by societal, cultural, or family beliefs

  • Include experiences that may not always be acknowledged, such as racial trauma

Trauma may lead to:

  • Internal narratives that you are:

    • “bad”

    • defective

    • weak

    • unlovable

  • Feelings of helplessness

  • Difficulty regulating emotions

  • Challenges in relationships

  • Feeling unsafe in the world

  • Feeling disconnected from your body or sense of self

  • A sense of being out of control emotionally, physically, or relationally

The body and nervous system often carry the pain of traumatic experiences long after the experience itself has passed.

My approach to trauma therapy

If you are here, you have survived — and there is a part inside of you that knows your worth.

When working with trauma, I focus first on gently establishing safety and trust within the therapeutic relationship.

Together, we may incorporate modalities such as:

  • EMDR

  • Parts work

  • Somatic therapy

We will always move at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you.

“Children don’t get traumatized because they hurt, they get traumatized because they are alone with their hurt.”
